For the first time this year, the "Environmental Health Voucher" will be provided to protect the health of children under the age of 13 from low-income households. Gwangju City urged many vulnerable households in the region to pay attention and apply, as 10,000 recipients will be randomly selected nationwide.

According to the city on the 3rd, the Ministry of Environment is introducing and implementing the "Environmental Health Voucher Support Project" for the first time this year, targeting 10,000 children under the age of 13 from low-income households nationwide. The goal of this project is to protect children's health and improve the living environment of vulnerable groups by preventing environmentally related diseases and improving indoor environments.

The "Environmental Health Voucher" is divided into a "Product, Service, and Medical Expense Voucher" worth 100,000 won, which can be used to purchase goods and services, and an "Indoor Environment Consulting Voucher," which provides on-site consulting for indoor environments and, if necessary, support for replacing flooring and wallpaper.

Applications for the "Product, Service, and Medical Expense Voucher" will be accepted until the 17th, with the results announced on the 21st. Each child can apply once, and 8,500 recipients will be selected nationwide through a random draw. Each child will receive 100,000 won in points, which can be used to purchase necessary goods and services from the online mall or to pay for medical and prescription expenses. In addition, applications are available for the "Health Nanuri Camp Education," a program for education on the prevention and management of environmentally related diseases and nature experience services held at national parks and other locations.

However, once the Environmental Health Voucher points are converted to online mall-exclusive points, they cannot be converted back to Environmental Health Voucher points. Therefore, those wishing to use the points for medical or prescription expenses should consider this before converting them to online mall points.

Applications for the "Indoor Environment Consulting Voucher" will be accepted from the 21st to the 27th, with the results announced on the 30th. Each household can apply once, and 1,500 recipients will be selected nationwide through a random draw. Recipients will receive diagnosis, measurement, and consulting for environmental hazards, and if necessary, support for replacing flooring and wallpaper.

To apply for the Environmental Health Voucher, an adult living with a child under the age of 13 who is a low-income recipient can apply online through the voucher website. Each voucher cannot be awarded to the same recipient, and only those who have not applied for or were not selected for the Product, Service, and Medical Expense Voucher may apply for the Indoor Environment Consulting Voucher. However, if there are not enough applicants for the Indoor Environment Consulting Voucher, those selected for the Product, Service, and Medical Expense Voucher may also receive support.

Kim Osuk, head of the Environmental Conservation Division, said, "We hope that many households with low-income children in Gwangju will show interest and apply, so that this can help prevent environmentally related diseases."
