From Waste Collection to Crackdown on Illegal Parking
Dongjak-gu, Seoul (Mayor Park Il-ha) is piloting the operation of a "Villa Management Center" within the Sadang 1-dong Community Service Center to enhance the residential convenience for residents living in multi-family and row houses.
District Mayor Park Il-ha is delivering a greeting at the 'Dongjak-gu Villa Management Center Opening Ceremony with Residents of Sadang 1-dong' on the 31st of last month. Provided by Dongjak-gu.
The Dongjak-gu Villa Management Center was introduced to support systematic management comparable to apartments in areas densely populated with small-scale multi-family housing. A professional manager with experience as an apartment management office chief is assigned to carry out tasks such as cleaning and intensive management of illegal dumping, installation and management of RFID (electronic tag) food waste bins, safety patrols, enforcement against illegal parking, and facility maintenance (including repair support).
Within one month of its launch, it has handled about 180 complaints, receiving great responses from local residents. The operating hours are from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. on weekdays, and phone inquiries can be made at the main number "1811-8272 (Quick Service)" from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. It is not operated on weekends or public holidays.
Based on data collected during the first month of operation and residents' feedback, the district plans to improve the service. In July of this year, another Villa Management Center will be added in the Sangdo-dong area, with plans to expand to all neighborhoods in the future.
Mayor Park Il-ha said, "The introduction of the Villa Management Center will resolve chronic issues such as parking and waste, raising the quality of residents' living environments," adding, "We will continue to implement innovative policies for a better daily life for our citizens."
