Gyeonggi Province will operate employment transition training courses for future growth industries such as electric vehicles and electric charging energy.

Gyeonggi Province announced that starting from the 1st, Gyeonggi Technical School (located in Hwaseong) within the Gyeonggi Job Foundation and three cooperating institutions in the province will collaborate to conduct expert training courses, including new courses related to electric vehicles and charging energy (150 people) and in-service courses (440 people).

Gyeonggi Province previously selected the cooperating institutions through a public contest in February.

The training courses include ▲Electric Vehicle Maintenance Workforce Training ▲Electric Charging Energy Workforce Training ▲Smart Manufacturing Workforce Training ▲Mobility Industry Transition Conference.

Gyeonggi Province has strengthened on-site practical training by establishing more than 50 types of equipment necessary for education, such as electric vehicle, hybrid, and hydrogen vehicle simulators, within Gyeonggi Technical School.

In particular, this year, the number of professional instructors at Gyeonggi Technical School was increased from 5 to 8, and the scoring for education instructors during the selection of cooperating institutions was expanded from 30 points to 40 points to enhance instructor expertise.

Earlier, Gyeonggi Province recognized the need to train experts due to the accelerated structural change in the automobile industry centered on internal combustion engines, and trained 317 experts in 2023 and 864 experts in 2024 through this project. For the new course, employment rates of 45.9% and 52.8% were achieved annually compared to the number of graduates.

Jinki Bae, Director of the Job and Economic Policy Division of Gyeonggi Province, said, "According to the World Economic Forum (WEF) ‘Future of Jobs’ report, more than 20% of current jobs are expected to be created or disappear by 2030," adding, "Gyeonggi Province will proactively train the specialized talent needed in future growth industries such as electric vehicles and strive to create high value-added jobs."
