Han & Company Completes Acquisition of SK Specialty, the Global No.1 in Specialty Gases

Han & Company announced on the 31st that it has finalized the acquisition of an 85% stake in SK Specialty from SK for approximately 2.6 trillion KRW. This comes about three months after signing the Stock Purchase Agreement (SPA) on December 23 of last year. The acquisition secures a ‘global champion’ in the core semiconductor materials sector, further strengthening its advanced manufacturing portfolio.

SK Specialty is a global leader in the production of specialty gases essential for semiconductor and display panel manufacturing processes. It holds the number one global market share for nitrogen trifluoride (NF3) and tungsten hexafluoride (WF6), key materials in advanced semiconductors.

Han & Company acquired an 85% stake in SK Specialty, while SK will retain the remaining 15% considering SK Specialty’s growth potential. Han & Company has committed to ensuring employment stability for SK Specialty’s workforce, which forms the foundation of its technological competitiveness, and to continuing investments for future growth.

Through this transaction, Han & Company plans to continue its track record of forming partnerships based on trust with major domestic conglomerates and acquiring leading manufacturing companies to enhance global competitiveness.

A representative from Han & Company stated, "We consider it highly meaningful to have acquired SK Specialty, the global number one in specialty gases and a pivotal company in advanced manufacturing such as semiconductors. We will make generous investments for future growth to strengthen SK Specialty’s technological competitiveness and establish a more solid position within the domestic advanced industry ecosystem."

Meanwhile, this investment was made through Han & Company’s fourth private equity fund, which was finalized last year with approximately 4.7 trillion KRW. Through the 4th fund, Han & Company focuses on investing in advanced manufacturing companies with global competitiveness.
