The Busanjin-gu branch of the National Health Insurance Service (branch manager Park Myungju) announced on the 26th that it had pledged support for the major issue of tobacco litigation, together with heads of local healthcare and pharmaceutical organizations and the head of the public health center.
During the meeting, the necessity and progress of the tobacco litigation, which holds tobacco companies accountable for the harms of smoking, were explained. It was also introduced that through this appeal, the Service is continuously striving to protect public health. In addition, the branch requested ongoing cooperation and connection with the integrated care support project to be implemented next year, as well as with the primary care chronic disease management project that is being actively promoted in the region.
Park Myungju, head of the Busanjin-gu branch, stated, "Thank you for supporting the tobacco litigation. We will actively promote the 'Tobacco Litigation Awareness Campaign' to create a healthier world for future generations."
