Samsung Electronics announced on the 31st that it will sell 'Galaxy Certified Pre-Owned Phones' in South Korea. These are flagship smartphones that were returned within 7 days of online purchase due to simple change of mind or unboxing, and have undergone thorough in-house quality inspections to be rated as top-tier products.
Samsung Electronics will start selling Galaxy Certified Pre-Owned Phones beginning with the unlocked 'Galaxy S24 series' products, and plans to gradually expand the product range in the future by reflecting market demand and consumer needs.
By selling returned products, which were previously discarded in bulk, at prices lower than new products, Samsung Electronics explains that many consumers will be able to experience the latest 'Galaxy AI' technology, while also reducing smartphone waste and contributing to a circular economy.
The unlocked 'Galaxy S24 series' products sold as Galaxy Certified Pre-Owned Phones are priced 260,000 to 640,000 KRW lower than new products and are available on Samsung.com. Specifically, the S24 Ultra (256GB, 512GB, 1TB) is priced at 1,307,900 KRW, 1,367,300 KRW, and 1,486,100 KRW respectively; the S24+ (256GB, 512GB) at 1,041,700 KRW and 1,101,100 KRW; and the S24 (256GB, 512GB) at 889,900 KRW and 949,300 KRW.
Galaxy Certified Pre-Owned Phones come with the same 2-year A/S warranty as new products and are eligible for Samsung Care+ coverage with damage protection. Additionally, consumers can get a refund within 7 days of purchase, allowing them to buy with confidence.
A Samsung Electronics representative stated, "This adds an option for consumers to purchase flagship models," and added, "We hope this allows more customers to experience 'Galaxy AI'."
