The media wall, measuring 10 meters wide and 2 meters high, will display artworks and provide citizens with visual attractions and useful information. The general video transmission devices, including the electronic display board, ensure transparency so as not to obstruct the view of pedestrians and others.
The city plans to allow views of the Singalcheon Stream through the transparent screen until sunset, and after sunset, until the light rail service ends, it will screen videos of works by contemporary artists who reinterpret the character Joa-yong, traditional folk paintings, and elements of auspicious flowers with a modern sensibility.
Along with this, the city has also installed a Joa-yong photo zone, step lights, and landscape lighting beneath Giheung Station. The city plans to install media walls in various spaces within the region to introduce public information such as festivals and policies, as well as diverse artworks.
Lee Sang-il, mayor of Yongin City, said, "The space beneath the station is not just a place to pass through to use public transportation, but a space that offers citizens unique experiences and enjoyment, which is why we installed the media wall."
