Goyang-si Aims to Achieve 68.9% Employment Rate and 560,500 Employed Persons

Goyang City Announces 2025 Detailed Job Plan
Aiming for a 68.9% Employment Rate for Ages 15-64 Through Quality Job Creation

Goyang Special City, Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Lee Dong-hwan) announced on the 31st the '2025 Detailed Job Plan' following the implementation of the regional job disclosure system.

Goyang-si Aims to Achieve 68.9% Employment Rate and 560,500 Employed Persons A view of Goyang Special City Hall. Provided by Goyang Special City.

In 2025, Goyang City aims to achieve an employment rate (for ages 15-64) of 68.9% and exceed 560,500 employed persons, with each department promoting 432 detailed job projects.

The regional job disclosure system is a local employment activation policy whereby the head of a local government presents job goals and measures to achieve them to the residents of the area, based on Article 9-2 of the Framework Act on Employment Policy (Establishment of Regional Job Creation Measures, etc.).

In this plan, the city set four core strategies: ▲ Establishing an optimal job governance model for Goyang ▲ Creating jobs linked to the Free Economic Zone ▲ Balanced jobs satisfying all citizens ▲ Creating conditions for sustainable jobs.

In particular, by promoting the designation of the Free Economic Zone and revitalizing advanced industries such as bio-precision medical fields, drone industry, and broadcasting and video industry linked to it, the city aims to build a foundation for attracting companies. Additionally, youth policies will be actively promoted through the Tomorrow Dream Factory, scheduled to open in April this year.

Furthermore, the city plans to implement job projects tailored to local industries, such as the Goyang-customized job school project, and provide various public jobs and job projects by category to prevent vulnerable employment groups such as middle-aged seniors, elderly, and women with career interruptions from falling into employment blind spots.

A Goyang Special City official stated, "To realize a city with stable and quality employment, we will actively pursue policies to create sustainable jobs and secure self-sufficient facilities."
