Completion Ceremony of Bakmi Health Park and Tree Planting Event Celebrating the 80th Arbor Day Held on March 28
Bakmi Health Park's Existing Badminton Court and Outdoor Gym Newly Renovated
Geumcheon-gu (Mayor Yoo Seong-hoon) announced that on March 28 at 3 p.m., a tree planting event commemorating the 80th Arbor Day was held at the completion ceremony of Bakmi Health Park.
The district renovated the outdated exercise facilities of Bakmi Health Park to create a safe and pleasant health park for residents. The park site was secured through the free use cooperation of land (San 6-7, Siheung-dong) owned by Yoido Full Gospel Church.
Bakmi Badminton Court in the park has three badminton courts where residents can freely play badminton. Next to the badminton court, there is a ‘Barefoot Garden’ where visitors can walk barefoot, and an ‘Outdoor Gym’ equipped with exercise equipment. There is also a wooden floor walking path and resting area where residents can take care of their health and relax.
The event was organized as a meaningful occasion to celebrate the completion of the newly renovated Bakmi Health Park and to conduct tree planting activities with local residents in line with the 80th Arbor Day.
About 100 people attended, including Geumcheon-gu Mayor Yoo Seong-hoon, 16 families who applied in advance, local residents, and representatives from Yoido Full Gospel Church. After the completion ceremony of Bakmi Health Park, attendees toured the park and planted about 2,000 trees including crape myrtle, Japanese snowbell, and cornelian cherry on the nearby site.
Mayor Yoo Seong-hoon of Geumcheon-gu said, “The creation of Bakmi Health Park is a precious first step to improving the quality of life for residents,” and added, “We will actively promote park development and tree planting to create a green city Geumcheon.”
Meanwhile, starting with Bakmi Health Park, the district plans to expand green spaces in daily life where residents can be close to nature by promoting the creation of ‘Nam Seoul Hope Forest (tentative name)’ on the 230,000㎡ site of Yoido Full Gospel Church.
