The Gwangju Probation Office under the Ministry of Justice, after confirming the signal from the electronic monitor had been lost, immediately reported the incident to the police, prompting a joint investigation by the Yeosu and Suncheon police stations.

Mr. A had been ordered to wear the electronic monitor due to a previous conviction for robbery, and it is reported that he discarded his mobile phone and disappeared at the time of his escape.

The police have identified that Mr. A moved toward Gwangju via Suncheon and are currently tracking his escape route. A police official stated, "As soon as Mr. A is apprehended, we will investigate the circumstances surrounding the damage to the electronic monitor and his escape."
