On the 30th, first-term lawmakers of the People Power Party criticized the first-term lawmakers of the Democratic Party of Korea for warning that if Acting President and Prime Minister Han Duck-soo does not appoint constitutional court nominee Ma Eun-hyuk, they will impeach all cabinet members, stating, "The dissolution of the Democratic Party should be seriously considered."
Kim Dae-sik, Park Seong-hoon, Park Soo-min, Park Jun-tae, Shin Dong-wook, Seo Myeong-ok, Seo Ji-young, Ahn Sang-hoon, Lee Jong-wook, Lim Jong-deuk, Yoo Yong-won, Jo Seung-hwan, Choi Bo-yoon, Choi Eun-seok, and other first-term lawmakers of the People Power Party held a press conference at the National Assembly on the same day, saying, "We strongly condemn the Democratic Party's madness-driven impeachment omnipotence and parliamentary coup."
They claimed, "Despite the Democratic Party having paralyzed state affairs and divided public opinion through 30 rounds of impeachment shows and suffering a disastrous result of nine losses in nine attempts, they show no reflection and are trying to start the disastrous impeachment rampage train again."
They continued, "Declaring the impeachment of all cabinet members to completely paralyze state affairs without feeling responsible for the economic collapse and government confusion is, in fact, a declaration of parliamentary dictatorship and a parliamentary coup."
The first-term lawmakers of the People Power Party stated, "The behavior of paralyzing state affairs, threatening constitutional institutions, and impeaching all forces opposing their will is a dictatorial outrage denying democracy and, in fact, an act of rebellion," adding, "Now that the Democratic Party has publicly declared it will collapse the Republic of Korea through a series of impeachments, Acting President Han Duck-soo should seriously consider dissolving the 'rebellious party' Democratic Party before the executive branch's functions are suspended."
Regarding the Constitutional Court, they said, "We strongly urge the court to stop delaying any further and promptly conclude the impeachment trial of President Yoon Seok-youl," adding, "We hope the constitutional court justices keep in mind that if the number of justices supporting impeachment does not reach six, they have a constitutional 'duty' to dismiss the impeachment request."
