From the 26th to the 28th, the city of Busan hosted a three-day promotional trip (fam tour), inviting key figures in the Asian gastronomy sector to experience and exchange Busan's culinary content.

This promotional trip was organized to build a network with the Asian gastronomy industry and to promote Busan's culinary content.
More than ten participants, including food columnists, renowned chefs, and influencers from five countries such as Hong Kong, Japan, and China, took part in the event.
Through this event, participants were introduced to Busan’s culinary culture, where tradition and modernity blend, and took part in various programs highlighting local ingredients, cooking methods, and the creative interpretations of local chefs.
The participants experienced the region’s unique food culture by tasting fresh seafood, street food, and local specialties such as Ggomjangeo and Dwaejigukbap at Busan’s representative traditional markets, including Jagalchi Market.
They also visited restaurants overlooking the Busan sea to enjoy creative dishes made with local ingredients, and engaged with local chefs to gain a deeper understanding of the city’s culinary philosophy.
In particular, at the roundtable held on the 27th, Mayor Park Hyungjoon attended and joined participants, renowned chefs from Seoul, Busan chefs, and food service industry representatives, strengthening the foundation for practical cooperation with the gastronomy industry across Asia.
Taking this promotional trip as an opportunity, the city plans to systematically establish a foundation for culinary tourism through public-private cooperation, expanding various partnership opportunities with the Asian gastronomy industry in collaboration with the Busan Tourism Organization, such as overseas chef collaborations and joint projects related to gastronomy, so that Busan’s food culture can further develop as a tourism content.
Ultimately, the strategy is to enhance Busan’s international recognition as a gastronomic city through exchanges with the Asian gastronomy industry and to foster a high value-added tourism industry centered on gastronomy.
The participants shared their impressions, saying, “We were able to discover Busan’s unique charm by experiencing its diverse culinary culture, including seafood and street food,” and “Especially through exchanges with Busan’s chefs, we saw many possibilities for collaboration with the Asian gastronomy industry.”
Mayor Park Hyungjoon stated, “Busan, as a world-class port city, is the optimal destination for culinary tourism, where fresh seafood and diverse food cultures coexist. I hope that Busan’s unique culinary assets were appealingly conveyed to countries across Asia through this event, and that this exchange will serve as the first step in building an Asian gastronomy network. We will continue to discover and promote differentiated content to make Busan a gastronomic city sought after by people around the world.”
