Appliances Equipped with Screens Expand Connectivity via SmartThings
Top Performance Combined with AI Eases Household Chores
SmartThings-Based Services Include Home and Family Care
Knox Matrix and Quantum-Resistant Encryption Technology Applied
Samsung Electronics unveiled a large number of new artificial intelligence (AI) home appliances and services that innovate everyday life. This reflects the company's determination to bring a fresh breeze to the home appliance market, which is fiercely challenged by Chinese competition, through AI.
According to the home appliance industry on the 30th, Samsung Electronics held the 'Welcome to Bespoke AI' event on the 28th in Gwangjin-gu, Seoul, showcasing 2025 model new products equipped with AI features.

Samsung Electronics identified AI solutions that anyone can easily use, which care for users and save time and energy, as the key theme of these new products.
In particular, the 'AI Home' touchscreen was installed on most home appliances. As a result, users can remotely monitor and control all appliances connected to SmartThings through the touchscreen embedded in the appliances. Additionally, the 'AI Home' touchscreen supports various protocols such as Wi-Fi, Zigbee, Matter, and Thread, allowing connection and control of various Internet of Things (IoT) devices like lights and switches without a separate hub. Previously, Samsung Electronics enhanced convenience by installing screens on Family Hub refrigerators launched in 2016, as well as on washer-dryers and slide-in ranges. This year, the plan is to expand screen installation to general refrigerators, washing machines, dryers, induction cooktops, and ovens.
Furthermore, Samsung Electronics introduced an upgraded 'Bixby' with the 'Voice ID' feature that distinguishes and recognizes the voices of family members. When a user says in front of the refrigerator, "Bixby, tell me my schedule" or "Show me my photos," Bixby recognizes the user's voice and retrieves the schedule and photos from the gallery. Also, saying "Bixby, find my phone" triggers the 'Find My Phone' feature, ringing the user's phone to indicate its location. Various personalized services are provided, such as 'Accessibility Settings Sync,' which applies accessibility features set on the phone to home appliances.
Other services introduced include sending immediate alerts to users if family members' daily activities such as opening the refrigerator or using the water purifier are not detected within a certain time, or if appliance usage is detected in an empty house. The 'Home Monitoring' feature allows users to remotely check inside the house through a robot vacuum cleaner, offering various services that care for the family and home.

Moon Jong-seung, Vice President of Samsung Electronics' Device Solutions (DA) Division, said, "Samsung Electronics aims to provide an AI home experience that understands, cares for, and solves problems for users through device connectivity and AI technology, beyond hardware innovation." He added, "Based on technological leadership, we will continue to launch products and services that innovate our lives and lead change."
The 2025 Bespoke AI home appliance new products, which feature top-level performance and usability, also attracted attention.
The 'Bespoke AI Hybrid' refrigerator is equipped with the 'AI Hybrid Cooling' function, which operates compressors and semiconductor components together for optimal efficiency. This year, it features a 9-inch screen and expands the lineup from freestanding to Kitchen Fit models, broadening consumer choices. The 9-inch screen on the refrigerator supports a dashboard-style 'Daily Board' that allows users to check schedules, weather, and recommended diets at a glance.
Additionally, the function that automatically recognizes when fresh food is added or removed to create a food list has been enhanced with 'AI Vision Inside 2.0.' The number of automatically recognized food types has increased from 33 to 37, and through the 'AI Food Manager,' up to 50 frequently stored processed and packaged foods can be additionally recognized and registered.
The 2025 all-in-one washer-dryer 'Bespoke AI Combo' boasts the largest washing capacity of 25kg and drying capacity of 18kg in Korea, with significantly improved performance. As of the 5th of this year, the 25kg washing capacity is the largest among home washers registered with the Korea Energy Agency, and as of the 10th, the 18kg drying capacity is the largest among drum models registered with the Korea Energy Agency. By improving the heat exchanger structure and preheating function, washing and drying can be completed in just 79 minutes on the quick course.
Samsung Electronics will also introduce the 'Infinite AI Combo' washer-dryer from the Infinite line this year. The Infinite line is a premium home appliance lineup that uses materials such as aluminum, ceramic, and stainless steel to provide strong durability and timeless design.
The 2025 'Infinite AI Combo' features a sleek flat design with a 'Hidden Door' that opens with a light touch, eliminating protrusions, and enhances luxury and durability with 'Real Art Steel' material that preserves the pure texture of metal. The 2025 'Bespoke AI Jet' stick vacuum cleaner offers world-class 400W suction power and powerful performance that allows up to 100 minutes of use on a single battery in normal mode. It also supports 'AI Mode 2.0,' which adjusts suction power optimally by recognizing not only floor types such as hardwood, carpet, and mats but also spatial forms like corners and walls.
The 2025 'Bespoke AI Steam' cleaner boasts upgraded cleaning performance and convenience. It is equipped with Samsung Electronics' patented motor technology, doubling suction power compared to previous models. It features an 'RGB camera' and a 'liquid detection sensor' that can recognize both opaque and transparent liquids. Depending on user settings, it can clean areas with liquids using a mop or avoid them.
The 'Bespoke AI Steam' uses a rotating mop at up to 200rpm to remove stubborn stains and liquid contaminants, and its 'Pop Out' function extends the brush and mop to clean corners and walls, ensuring thorough cleaning without blind spots. It also applies an automatic water supply and drainage system that eliminates the need for managing water tanks and wastewater tanks, enhancing convenience. Users can choose between the automatic water supply and drainage system or the conventional method.
Samsung Electronics stated that it paid great attention to security solutions that thoroughly protect customer information while launching new products. Samsung home appliances securely protect personal information through their proprietary security solution, 'Knox.'
This year, 'Knox Matrix,' which was previously supported only on Family Hub, will be introduced to all Wi-Fi-enabled home appliances. Knox Matrix is a blockchain-based security technology that allows connected devices to mutually check their security status and, upon detecting external threats, disconnects the affected device and immediately notifies users for prompt action.
Additionally, 'Knox Vault,' which separately stores sensitive personal information such as passwords and authentication data in a hardware security chip, will be applied for the first time this year to screen-equipped home appliances and robot vacuum cleaners for strong protection. Samsung also plans to introduce 'quantum-resistant encryption' technology to prepare for attacks from quantum computing.
Last year, Samsung Electronics became the first in the industry to receive the highest number of diamond ratings in IoT security evaluation by global certification company UL Solutions. The 'Bespoke AI Hybrid' refrigerator released last month also received a diamond rating, and Samsung plans to gradually expand security certifications to 2025 model products to be released in the future.
Samsung Electronics also provides various services to help users keep their appliances up to date and use them conveniently. In May last year, it introduced the software update service 'Smart Forward' and has conducted about 90 updates over the past year to quickly resolve customer inconveniences and improve functions.
Samsung offers the 'SmartThings Home Care' service, which diagnoses errors based on device data and guides appropriate actions, and the 'Remote Diagnosis Service,' which supports direct consultation and action with consumers remotely. This service is expanding from Korea and the United States to Europe, India, and Australia.
Samsung Electronics also emphasized efforts to reduce waste and increase recycling rates through proprietary technology and various collaborations. Examples include jointly developing enamel steel plates with increased recycled material content in collaboration with POSCO, recycling plastics collected from discarded home appliances into some air conditioner parts, and reusing discarded Styrofoam as part of packaging materials.
