Inspects Post Office Resources and Restoration Efforts

Yoo Sang-im, Minister of Science and ICT, visited Andong City, Gyeongsangbuk-do, a region severely affected by large-scale wildfires, on the 28th to inspect the restoration of broadcasting and communication facilities.
Minister Yoo first inspected the restoration site of a mobile communication base station located in Namseo-myeon together with mobile network operators and officials from Korea Electric Power Corporation. He reviewed the overall restoration status of mobile communication services in the area and encouraged the personnel working hard on the restoration efforts on site.
He then visited a shelter for wildfire evacuees in Andong City to check the communication support status, including smartphone charging booths and Wi-Fi quality, and comforted the residents affected by the wildfire. Additionally, he visited the Andong Postal Distribution Center to inspect the operation status of the on-site support team of the Broadcasting and Communication Disaster Response Headquarters stationed there, as well as the available resources of the post office.
Minister Yoo Sang-im stated, "I sincerely extend my condolences to the citizens affected by this wildfire, and we will do our utmost to ensure that the communication network is restored as quickly as possible with the public and private sectors working as one team." He also urged, "Please prioritize the safety of the on-site staff who are tirelessly working on the restoration efforts day and night."
