"As the Financial Authority, We Will Do Our Best"

Choi Sang-mok, Deputy Prime Minister for Economy and Minister of Strategy and Finance, said on the 28th that "the government will promptly review all possible measures and inform the public soon" in response to the ruling party's request for an additional supplementary budget.

Deputy Prime Minister Choi made these remarks at the wildfire command center in Andong, Gyeongbuk. Present at the site were Han Duck-soo, Acting President and Prime Minister, Kwon Young-se, Emergency Response Committee Chairman of the People Power Party, and Kwon Seong-dong, Floor Leader of the People Power Party.

Floor Leader Kwon said at the meeting, "Even if it means handling the disaster response contingency fund as a one-point measure, the government needs to prepare a supplementary budget," adding, "I especially ask Deputy Prime Minister Choi to take charge."

Deputy Prime Minister Choi expressed the government's position to review all possible measures and make an announcement in response to this request. He stated, "As the financial authority, we will do our best to ensure that the measures are implemented quickly."
