Seongbuk-gu, Seoul (Mayor Lee Seung-ro) announced that on the 28th, it held the "2025 Spring Wildfire Prevention Related Agencies Meeting" together with related organizations such as the police station, fire station, Bukhansan National Park Office, as well as the Saam Federation, Autonomous Disaster Prevention Group, and Village Safety Council in relation to the wildfire situation.

At the meeting, condolences were expressed for the victims of nationwide wildfire damage, and comprehensive discussions were held on wildfire prevention and preparedness measures, including inspection and crackdown plans for major wildfire risk areas within Seongbuk-gu, and plans for inspection and reinforcement of wildfire equipment. Seongbuk-gu plans to strengthen its response to completely prevent wildfire occurrences during the wildfire prevention period continuing until May this year.


The district will jointly conduct wildfire prevention training and campaigns in cooperation with the police station, fire station, and Bukhansan National Park, and operate continuous wildfire monitoring activities together with the Saam Federation, Autonomous Disaster Prevention Group, and Village Safety Council. In addition, preventive measures will be strengthened by spreading wildfire retardants and installing additional wildfire prevention black boxes at hiking trail entrances. Firefighting equipment will be supported to Seongbuk Fire Station and Bukhansan National Park Office, and an emergency contact network inspection and firefighting personnel support system will be established for rapid response in case of wildfire occurrence.


Seongbuk-gu urged residents to actively participate in the wildfire prevention campaigns and training conducted until next month. Detailed schedules can be found on the Seongbuk-gu website.


Mayor Lee Seung-ro said, "I extend my deepest condolences to the residents affected by the wildfire damage, and I thank everyone on the scene who is making every effort to extinguish the fire," adding, "Seongbuk-gu will also do its best in wildfire prevention and preparedness in cooperation with related agencies and organizations."


Meanwhile, Seongbuk-gu is providing relief supplies to help the wildfire-affected areas. The supplies include about 1,000 pieces of clothing, about 1,000 towels, and about 300 pairs of shoes provided by the Seongbuk-gu Fashion Sewing Association. In addition, local community centers and regional sponsors are also supporting relief supplies.
