This project supports traditional markets with high growth potential to improve market environment and service levels, laying the foundation for development into specialized markets. The city explained that it secured 220 million KRW in national funding through this contest selection.

Through this contest project, Anseong Matchum Market will promote five core tasks: ▲ improving payment convenience ▲ organizing price and origin labeling ▲ enhancing sanitary environment ▲ strengthening merchant organization capabilities ▲ and safety management within the market. Through this, the city plans to establish a foundation for advancing Anseong Matchum Market into a cultural tourism market and a digital traditional market, among other specialized projects.

Previously, in the Anseong area, Anseong Jungang Market and Iljuk Market were also selected in the 'Cultural Tourism Market' category of the traditional market specialization project contest.

Kim Bora, Mayor of Anseong, said, "This contest selection is the result of recognizing the potential and possibility of change of Anseong Matchum Market," adding, "We will link Anseong’s culture and tourism resources with traditional markets to create a distinctive attraction visited by many."
