Recruitment of Participating Companies for the 'Large and Small-Medium Win-Win Samsung Smart Factory'

Supporting Manufacturing Innovation for 200 Small and Medium Enterprises
through Collaboration between Kbiz, the Ministry of SMEs and Startups, and Samsung Electronics

The Korea Federation of Small and Medium Business (Kbiz) and Samsung Electronics announced on the 30th that they are accepting applications for companies to participate in the 2025 "Large and Small Business Win-Win (Samsung) Smart Factory Construction Support Project," led by the Ministry of SMEs and Startups.


Since 2018, Kbiz, together with the Ministry of SMEs and Startups and Samsung Electronics, has supported the construction of smart factories for 2,367 companies with a budget of approximately 120 billion KRW over seven years. This year's project will proceed with ▲ Win-Win (Advanced) Smart Factory ▲ Local Government-Linked (Basic) Smart Factory support, with a total budget of 21.3 billion KRW to support the construction and advancement of about 200 smart factories.

Regarding the Win-Win (Advanced) Smart Factory, support will be provided to a total of 80 companies, with up to 150 million KRW per company, to build an ‘advanced’ level capable of real-time factory control, equipment control, and process automation.


The Local Government-Linked (Basic) Smart Factory support project, which has been promoted since last year, has expanded in scale and budget this year to assist small and medium enterprises urgently needing to build ‘basic’ level smart factories. In collaboration with 10 local governments, a total of 105 companies will be supported with up to 60 to 80 million KRW. Including Chungcheongbuk-do, Jeollanam-do, Gwangju Metropolitan City, Gyeongsangnam-do, Busan Metropolitan City, and Jeollabuk-do, which participated last year, this year an additional four local governments?Gangwon-do, Daegu Metropolitan City, Gyeongsangbuk-do·Gumi City, and Pohang City?will participate, making a total of 10 local governments.


Small and medium enterprises and mid-sized companies without business relations with Samsung can also participate in the Large and Small Business Win-Win (Samsung) Smart Factory Support Project, and participating companies can receive programs such as ▲ mentoring for manufacturing site innovation activities by 170 current Samsung Electronics experts ▲ participation in the Smart Biz Expo for market development ▲ expert training programs utilizing Samsung’s educational infrastructure ▲ and post-maintenance support through the Smart365 Center.


Kim Ki-moon, Chairman of the Korea Federation of Small and Medium Business, said, “Through the Large and Small Business Win-Win (Samsung) Smart Factory Construction Support Project, small and medium enterprises have achieved clear management results in manufacturing sites by improving productivity, quality, and cost reduction,” and added, “Kbiz will also strive to establish a sustainable growth foundation for small and medium enterprises and minimize blind spots in smart factories by expanding local government collaboration projects along with existing projects.”
