Gwangjin-gu Supports Comprehensive Cleaning of One Air Conditioner per 330 Store-Type Small Businesses

Gwangjin-gu (District Mayor Kim Kyung-ho) is launching the ‘Small Business Owner Air Conditioner and Heater Clean Care Support Project’ for the first time this year to create a pleasant business environment for small business owners in the area.

This project aims to improve the hygiene and cleanliness of small business owners’ workplaces through comprehensive cleaning support for air conditioners and heaters, thereby increasing satisfaction for both customers and employees. The purpose is to alleviate the management burden on small business owners by providing practical support needed at business sites.

The support targets approximately 330 small store-type businesses in the area. Applicants must meet three conditions: ▲ opened before March 24, 2023 ▲ annual sales less than 200 million KRW in the previous year ▲ tenant small business owners. Businesses registered as ‘Good Price Stores’ in Gwangjin-gu are given priority support.

The support includes comprehensive cleaning of one indoor unit of air conditioner or heater per store. The cleaning will be conducted by specialized companies from the end of April to May, and outdoor units are not included in the support. If the number of applicants exceeds the budget, selection will be made in order of lower annual sales in the previous year.

Currently, businesses that are ▲ temporarily closed or out of business ▲ non-store businesses and stores located in large-scale stores ▲ excluded industries such as real estate and entertainment businesses that are not eligible for development fund loans ▲ non-profit corporations, schools, and other public facilities are excluded from support. Also, even if a representative operates multiple businesses, only one unit per person can be supported.

The application period is from the 31st to April 11. Applications can be submitted by visiting the Regional Economy Division of Gwangjin-gu Office or online through the Gwangjin-gu Office website. For detailed information on eligibility and required documents, please contact the Regional Economy Division.

After the cleaning work is completed, an online satisfaction survey will be conducted for the supported businesses. As this is the first year of the project, feedback from participants will be used to improve the project and reflect additional support directions in the future.

Kim Kyung-ho, Mayor of Gwangjin-gu, said, “We have launched the air conditioner and heater clean care project to provide small but practical help to small business owners struggling due to the economic downturn,” and added, “We will expand various customized supports for the stability and growth of small business owners, who are the core of the local economy.”

The district is actively supporting small business owners through various projects such as ▲ operating a one-stop support center for small business owners ▲ supporting the Small and Medium Business Development Fund and Gwangjin-type special loans ▲ customized management consulting and facility improvement support ▲ expanding designation of alley-type shopping districts ▲ and public delivery app Ttaenggyeoyo.
