On the 28th, the Ministry of Employment and Labor held an emergency situation review meeting on wildfire damage chaired by Minister Kim Moon-soo. The meeting was held to check the status of workers and workplaces affected within the special disaster areas in Ulsan, Gyeongnam, and Gyeongbuk, as well as the support measures in place.

The Ministry of Employment and Labor established a wildfire damage situation room on the 26th and has been monitoring the field situation. It formed dedicated on-site support task forces (TF) in five areas including Jinju, Hadong, and Andong to support the employment and livelihood stability of residents in the affected areas.

Minister Kim received reports on the damage situation in the special disaster areas from the Busan and Daegu Regional Employment and Labor Offices. He stated, "To stabilize employment in the affected areas, we must actively support unemployment benefits, livelihood stabilization fund loans, and employment retention subsidies," and "we will also do our utmost to ensure safety to prevent additional damage during fire suppression and recovery processes."

Minister Kim said, "Many workers and business owners are suffering due to the spread of wildfire damage," adding, "We will expand the on-site support TF to other regions depending on the damage situation and carefully review additional support measures." He also requested, "I hope that the headquarters and local offices will work together with one heart and all their efforts until we overcome the wildfire disaster and restore daily life as soon as possible."

The Ministry of Employment and Labor plans to continuously check the damage to workplaces and employment situations caused by the wildfire at the headquarters’ damage situation room and provide close on-site services through local offices.
