Improved Access Road and Weighing System
Smooth Waste Disposal Expected
Yeosu City, South Jeolla Province (Mayor Jung Kimyung) announced on the 28th that it has completed the maintenance of the access road to the Manheung Sanitary Landfill and will resume facility operations starting April 1.
Due to the main gate structure of the existing landfill, general vehicles could not pass through directly and had to detour, and there were safety concerns as waste collection vehicles shared the same route.
In response, the city completed road alignment improvement works from June last year to January this year, and also addressed remaining issues such as lightning damage repairs to the weighbridge.
Additionally, the city finished preparations for resumption through a pilot operation, including registering waste collection vehicles and inspecting the weighing system.
A city official stated, "We will do our best to provide residents with a pleasant living environment through more efficient waste management."
