Shinan County Passes Down 'Shinan Gimbap' Techniques... Provides Income Generation Opportunities

Nine Types of Gimbap
Now Available at Local Restaurants

Shinan County in Jeonnam announced on the 28th that it will transfer the techniques for making nine types of Shinan Gimbap, which were previously only available at the Shinan World Gimbap Festa venue, so that they can be sold at local restaurants.

Applications will be accepted from businesses ready to sell the gimbap until the 31st at the town and township branches of the Shinan County Agricultural Technology Center. Training will begin on the 1st of next month, with instructors visiting each restaurant directly.

Section Chief Kwon Hyeonoh stated, "We will select the most popular gimbap from those sold at the Gimbap Festa, teach the recipes, and provide opportunities for new ideas and income generation."

The Shinan World Gimbap Festa, now in its third year, will be held for two days starting on the 26th of next month at the Jaeundo Museum Park. Main programs include food shows by celebrity chef Ahn Yuseong, known as the Black-and-White Chef, and the Vatican Pope's executive chef, as well as a variety of hands-on events such as the 'Shinan Garden Gimbap' contest, featuring Shinan's signature gimbap.
