Ansan City Discusses CCTV Expansion and More at 'Ilsacheolli Minsaeng Safety Meeting'

Mayor Lee: "Citizen Safety and Happiness Will Be Our Top Priority"

Gyeonggi-do Ansan City announced on the 28th that it held the 'Swift Public Safety Meeting' on the 27th, attended by heads of major institutions in the area.


The meeting, held under the theme of 'Strengthening the Urban Safety Network Based on CCTV,' was attended by Ansan Mayor Lee Min-geun, Kim Su-jin, Superintendent of Ansan Office of Education, Lee Kang-seok, Chief of Ansan Danwon Police Station, Gu Seul-hwan, Chief of Ansan Sangnok Police Station, and Kim Tae-heon, Disaster Response Manager of Ansan Fire Station, among others.

Now in its 12th year, this meeting is a forum where local safety-related institutions gather to discuss and review various current issues. Past meetings have achieved results such as ▲responding to collective actions in the medical sector ▲follow-up measures for the operation of central area police stations ▲measures for the 2025 College Scholastic Ability Test (CSAT).


At this meeting, effective crime prevention and safety measures through inter-agency cooperation were discussed. The agenda included ▲report on the current status of CCTV monitoring and inspection of the Integrated Control Center ▲sharing meeting achievements and future vision ▲plans for continuous expansion of CCTV and establishment of a smart city safety network ▲discussion of major public safety issues.


The city is strengthening real-time monitoring using CCTV at the 24-hour operated Integrated Control Center, while enhancing crime prevention and disaster response capabilities through cooperation with related agencies such as the police and fire departments. Recently, various safety experience programs have been conducted for children in the area, including ▲education on the operating principles of CCTV and emergency bells ▲practice-centered safety education.


Mayor Lee Min-geun of Ansan said, "This year as well, we will prioritize the safety and happiness of our citizens," adding, "We will focus on creating a safe living environment by strengthening inter-agency collaboration and establishing a dense safety network."
