POCO, a smartphone brand under Xiaomi, will launch the 'POCO F7 Pro' in the domestic market next month. Since POCO focuses on 'price-to-performance ratio' (value for money), it is expected to offer the product at a reasonable price in Korea as well.
According to the information technology (IT) industry on the 28th, Xiaomi unveiled the new POCO F7 series smartphones, 'POCO F7 Pro' and 'POCO F7 Ultra,' at a launch event held in Singapore the day before. Among them, the POCO F7 Pro is scheduled to be released domestically in April.
POCO is an independent brand born from Xiaomi. The newly revealed F series is the top-tier lineup of the POCO brand, and with the release of the F7 Pro next month, this will be the first time products from this lineup are introduced in Korea.
The POCO F7 Pro is equipped with Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset as its application processor (AP) and runs Xiaomi's HyperOS 2 operating system. This is said to enhance response speed and strengthen connectivity between devices. Additionally, it offers a smart assistant based on Google's generative artificial intelligence (AI) assistant 'Gemini.'
The battery supports 90W fast charging and has a capacity of approximately 6000mAh. The main camera features a 50-megapixel image sensor, and the 8-megapixel ultra-wide camera supports a 120-degree field of view. The camera also includes dynamic shot functions that add vividness and various AI features.
The POCO F7 Pro applies a glossy-matte finishing technique on its glass rear cover. The upper part is glossy, reflecting light, while the lower part has a matte finish creating contrast. In addition, it supports IP68-rated water and dust resistance and is equipped with Corning Gorilla Glass 7i to enhance display durability.
The POCO F7 Pro will be available in three colors: Black, Silver, and Blue. It offers two options: ▲12GB RAM with 256GB storage and ▲12GB RAM with 512GB storage. The prices are $499 (approximately 730,000 KRW) and $549 (approximately 800,000 KRW), respectively, with the domestic release price yet to be determined.
Meanwhile, the flagship-level POCO F7 Ultra is equipped with Qualcomm's high-performance Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset.
