Gwangju City has launched a comprehensive response to prevent wildfires, including activating the Disaster and Safety Countermeasures Headquarters on the 27th, following the nationwide simultaneous outbreak of wildfires and the elevation of the national wildfire disaster crisis alert to the 'Severe' level.

In addition, the city ordered support for the shredding of agricultural by-products, identification and maintenance of available wildfire suppression resources, and education on response procedures in the event of a wildfire to strengthen initial response capabilities.
