Kangwon Land to Build the Country's Highest 'Infinity Pool'

Project Approved at the 220th Board Meeting
To Be Built at High1 Grand Hotel

Kangwon Land is creating the highest altitude 'Infinity Pool' in South Korea at the High1 Grand Hotel.

On the 27th, Kangwon Land held its 220th board meeting and reviewed and approved two agenda items: the Infinity Pool construction project on the 7th floor of the Grand Hotel Convention Tower and the additional investment budget. The Infinity Pool will be constructed at the highest altitude in the country (800 meters above sea level). The company explained that in summer, guests can enjoy a panoramic view of the Baekdudaegan mountain range in a cool climate, and in winter, they can savor the snowy scenery while soaking in warm water.

The Kangwon Land Infinity Pool is the first new facility in the non-casino sector announced last April as part of the company's 'K-HIT Project 1.0.' It will be developed as a premium space, expected to contribute to increasing the hotel's added value and customer service satisfaction. This facility will be operated in conjunction with Kangwon Land's indoor and outdoor wellness centers (Balance Care Zone, Nature Healing Zone), offering various healing programs.

The project budget for the Infinity Pool construction is 7.5 billion KRW, with construction expected to be completed over nine months. The planned size includes a 516㎡ infinity pool, a 40㎡ temperature-maintaining pool, and a 52.9㎡ children's pool. The total area, including a 532㎡ cabana and parasol zone and a 281㎡ food and beverage (F&B) and check-in center, will be 1,421.9㎡ (approximately 430 pyeong).

Choi Cheol-gyu, Acting CEO of Kangwon Land, said, "The Infinity Pool we are creating this time will be a key facility offering customers a differentiated opportunity for rest and healing, becoming a landmark associated with Kangwon Land. We will make thorough preparations to create synergy with the entertainment facilities of the soon-to-be-completed second casino operation."

Meanwhile, at the same board meeting, the institution head's management performance agreement was reviewed, stipulating necessary matters such as the performance goals, authority, responsibilities, and compensation including performance bonuses for the CEO of Kangwon Land in accordance with the Act on the Management of Public Institutions.
