Gijang County in Busan (Governor Jeong Jongbok) announced on the 27th that it will officially launch the "2025 Gijang Hope Lighthouse Sharing Project Embracing Happiness," in collaboration with the Gijang County Community Social Security Council (Private Chairperson Kwon Myoyeon).

The "Gijang Hope Lighthouse Sharing Project Embracing Happiness" is a sharing initiative in which Gijang County, the Gijang County Community Social Security Council, and the Busan Community Chest of Korea have signed a business agreement to use local fundraising as financial resources. The project has been ongoing since 2019, and last year, 21 projects were carried out to support vulnerable groups, reaching 416 beneficiaries.

This year, with a fundraising total of 88.38 million KRW, Gijang County and its town and township Community Social Security Councils plan to support 441 vulnerable individuals through 22 different projects.

In particular, the project will be promoted as a regionally specialized initiative led by the Community Social Security Council, which serves as the focal point of public-private cooperation, to identify and support households in welfare crisis and vulnerable groups facing difficulties.

Main projects include: ▲ Longevity photo project "The Most Beautiful Present" (Gijang County) ▲ Child and youth leisure support "Dreaming Patissier" (Gijang-eup) ▲ Side dish support "Onkichan" (Jangan-eup) ▲ Youth learning platform support "Jeonggwan, Smart Learning" (Jeonggwan-eup) ▲ Solitary death prevention support "Ttasoom, Hanmogum" (Ilgwang-eup) ▲ Cheolma-type emergency welfare support "Rainbow Hope Support" (Cheolma-myeon), among others.

Kwon Myoyeon, the private chairperson of the Gijang County Community Social Security Council, said, "We will do our best to promote the 'Gijang Hope Lighthouse Sharing Project Embracing Happiness' to create a Gijang County where we care for and grow together."

Jeong Jongbok, Governor of Gijang County, stated, "I hope this will help resolve welfare crisis households and welfare blind spots," adding, "We will spare no effort to support continuous fundraising and sharing projects to make Gijang County a better place to live together."
