Gwangju City Holds Public-Private Joint Campaign for Child Abuse Prevention and Mutual Respect

Gwangju City, Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Bang Se-hwan) held a "Joint Campaign for Child Abuse Prevention and Mutual Respect for Child Protection" on the 27th.

The joint campaign was conducted for about 800 students from grades 3 to 6 at Tanbeol Elementary School, and included participation from the heads and workers of nine organizations: ▲ City Hall ▲ Child Protection Agency ▲ Gwangju Hanam Office of Education ▲ Gwangju Police Station ▲ Youth Counseling and Welfare Center ▲ Youth Training Center ▲ Family Center ▲ Open Counseling Center ▲ Sexual Violence Counseling Center affiliated with the CR Women’s Association, as well as about 60 people including the principal and staff of Tanbeol Elementary School.


Participants in the campaign distributed leaflets and promotional materials on child abuse prevention and child protection, promoting mutual respect among students, parents, and school staff, thereby enhancing the significance of the public-private joint campaign.


Mayor Bang Se-hwan said, “Preventing child abuse is the first step toward child protection and mutual respect,” and added, “We will continue to spare no administrative effort to promote a culture of mutual understanding and trust through collaboration among child protection-related organizations and to strengthen respect for children’s human rights.”


Meanwhile, Gwangju City is solidifying its status as a child-friendly city by strengthening the public-private cooperation system through the Child Protection Da:Sup Project, which promotes child rights protection, creates a safe environment for children, and implements child abuse prevention initiatives.
