According to the agreement, as the first phase of the project, Wando County will create the 'Gugyedeng Mongdol Healing Trail', while the Dadohaehaesang National Park Office will establish the 'Tech Road Nightscape'. In the second phase, various public projects will be promoted to establish lowland forest experience infrastructure (sky observatory, forest experience facilities) for the activation of forest healing, thereby strengthening the foundation for sound healing utilizing Gugyedeng and advancing as the nation's only 'Healing Island'.
Dadohaehaesang National Park was designated as Korea's 14th national park in 1981, and the Dadohaehaesang National Park Office manages the largest area among all national parks. Of this, 51% is in Wando, which boasts outstanding coastal scenery and diverse healing resources in island areas such as Gugyedeng, Cheongsando, Soando, and Bogildo.
County Governor Shin Woochul stated, "The nature and resources of Dadohaehaesang National Park are valuable healing assets for our county," and added, "We will cooperate with the Dadohaehaesang National Park Office to promote forest and sound healing and to develop Wando County as a Healing Island."
Director Wi Jungwan said, "We will actively promote cooperative projects with the county to achieve the goals of regional development and forest healing, and strive to further enhance the value of Dadohaehaesang National Park."
