Average Assets of 1.7 Billion KRW for 15 Mayors and County Governors
Governor Kim Taeheum of Chungnam Reports 1.61606 Billion KRW
Among the 15 mayors and county governors in Chungnam, the wealthiest is Kim Kiwoong, the governor of Seocheon County.
The Government Public Officials Ethics Committee announced the 2025 regular asset change reports on the 27th through the electronic official gazette and other channels.
The average assets of the 15 city and county leaders were approximately 1.7 billion KRW, while Governor Kim Taeheum reported 1.61606 billion KRW.
Kim Kiwoong, governor of Seocheon County, reported 12.26918 billion KRW, making him the wealthiest, followed by Ga Sero, governor of Taean County, with 2.23276 billion KRW, Kim Dongil, mayor of Boryeong, with 1.80976 billion KRW, and Choi Jaegu, governor of Yesan County, with 1.71108 billion KRW.
Next were Oh Sunghwan, mayor of Dangjin, reporting 1.30675 billion KRW, Lee Wanseop, mayor of Seosan, with 1.17964 billion KRW, and Kim Dongon, governor of Cheongyang County, with 1.15705 billion KRW.
Others included: Park Junghyun, governor of Buyeo County (570.47 million KRW); Lee Yongrok, governor of Hongseong County (630.67 million KRW); Baek Sunghyun, mayor of Nonsan (851.20 million KRW); Choi Woncheol, mayor of Gongju (908.23 million KRW); Park Beomin, governor of Geumsan County (367.80 million KRW); Park Sangdon, mayor of Cheonan (351.76 million KRW); and Lee Eungwoo, mayor of Gyeryong (146.09 million KRW).
The official with the largest increase in assets was Park Junghyun, governor of Buyeo County. He reported an increase of 394.67 million KRW from last year's 175.79 million KRW.
Lee Eungwoo, mayor of Gyeryong, was the only official whose assets decreased. His assets dropped by 41.86 million KRW from last year's 187.95 million KRW. This change was due to a correction that combined previously separately reported land and buildings into the building category.
The Public Officials Ethics Committee plans to review the reports by the end of June and take appropriate actions if any false or incomplete reports are found.
