Providing Real-Time Traffic and Disaster Information to 2.2 Million Residents
Korea Road Traffic Authority TBN Chungnam Traffic Broadcasting is now just over 100 days away from its official launch.
According to Chungcheongnam-do Province on the 27th, Chungnam Traffic Broadcasting will air its first broadcast across the province at 10:39 a.m. on July 8, using frequency 103.9MHz.
Chungnam Traffic Broadcasting received approval from the Korea Communications Commission in 2023 and was established on a 7,512-square-meter site within the Naepo New City Urban High-Tech Industrial Complex's university-industry cooperation facility site, with an investment of 29.5 billion KRW. The building has three floors above ground and a total floor area of 2,994 square meters.
The first floor of the new building houses an open hall and a large conference room, the second floor contains a traffic information control room, and the third floor features a control room and studios.
In particular, the traffic information control room will also include an open hall with a capacity of 200 seats.
Chungnam Traffic Broadcasting plans to install relay stations on Gayasan (Wonhyobong) in Seosan, Heukseongsan in Cheonan, Okmasan in Boryeong, and Darakwon in Geumsan, providing traffic and disaster information throughout the province.
A provincial official stated, "With the launch of the traffic broadcasting station, 2.2 million residents will be able to receive real-time traffic and disaster information within the province," adding, "We will focus our administrative efforts to ensure a smooth launch."
