According to Yangpyeong County on the 27th, the main topics discussed during the meeting included △priority selection of the 2026 Hangang Riverside (Yangpyeong) National Ecological Exploration Trail project △cooperation regarding the relocation of the National Land Trans-Korea Namhan River bicycle road △promotion of the relocation district for amphibious military facilities. Mayor Jeon Jin-seon requested the Hangang River Basin Environmental Office to actively review these pending issues.
In particular, the National Land Trans-Korea Namhan River bicycle road project aims to change the route to resolve the discontinuity of the bicycle road and the risk of traffic accidents caused by the expansion project of Yanggeundaegyo Bridge. This requires consultation with the Hangang River Basin Environmental Office regarding the use of Ministry of Environment purchased land and the occupation of the Namhan River riverbed. In response, the Hangang River Basin Environmental Office sympathized with the proposals made by Yangpyeong County but stated that it would review the matter as it requires revision of related legal guidelines.
Mayor Jeon Jin-seon expressed gratitude, saying, “We appreciate the Ministry of Environment’s revision of the special large-scale notification allowing the introduction of ecological learning boats and the establishment of a park golf course site on the Namhan River.” He added, “We will continue to work closely with the Hangang River Basin Environmental Office for ecological environmental education and necessary regulatory improvements to provide better living environments and regional development for our residents.”
