Naver Happybean Raises 5 Billion Won for Wildfire Relief... Naver Also Donates 1 Billion Won

Naver announced that it has donated 1 billion KRW to aid recovery efforts for the large-scale wildfires that occurred in the Gyeongsang-do and Ulsan regions.

Naver’s online donation platform, ‘Happybean,’ is conducting fundraising activities for wildfire damage recovery in collaboration with the National Disaster Relief Association, Community Chest of Korea, and the Korean Red Cross. As of 8 a.m. on the 27th, approximately 210,000 donations have been made through Happybean, with a total of 5 billion KRW in contributions.

The relief funds were delivered to the National Disaster Relief Association via Happybean and will be used in various ways to restore the wildfire-affected areas and support disaster victims.

In addition to donating funds, Naver is leveraging various platforms such as Naver Maps, Happybean, and Weather to help prevent the spread of wildfire damage. Naver Maps displays major wildfire-related notices on the app’s main screen to assist users in safe travel, providing information on road closures and safety guidelines during wildfires.

Furthermore, to help users more intuitively identify wildfire-affected areas and restricted zones, wildfire icons and highlighted markings are shown on the map.

Naver is also operating a special ‘Wildfire’ page where users can gather weather alerts, disaster messages, and breaking news. On the special page’s ‘Report Talk’ section, users share real-time information about local conditions. From the 22nd, when the wildfire broke out, to the 26th, about 20,000 people actively participated in reporting.
