Agreement Signed with the Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries and the Agricultural and Fisheries Cooperation Foundation
Busan Port Authority (BPA, President Song Sanggeun) signed a business agreement with seven related organizations, including the Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries and the Agricultural and Fisheries Cooperation Foundation, on the 26th to promote the "2025 Eobokbus Project" led by the Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries.

The Eobokbus project, first launched by the Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries last year, provided medical, daily life, and administrative services to 100 fishermen on inhabited islands. Due to the high satisfaction with non-face-to-face medical consultations, the project will be expanded this year, with a budget of approximately 750 million KRW allocated to serve 200 inhabited islands and 50 fishing villages nationwide.
BPA decided in February to contribute 200 million KRW from the Rural and Fishing Village Win-Win Cooperation Fund to participate in this project.
BPA annually contributes about 300 million KRW to the Rural and Fishing Village Win-Win Cooperation Fund to promote mutual growth with rural and fishing communities. In particular, in 2023, BPA made an additional contribution of 300 million KRW to support fishermen struggling with reduced seafood consumption. In addition, BPA has participated in various projects such as the Fishing Village Vacant House Regeneration Project and scholarship programs for children of fishermen.
Song Sanggeun, President of BPA, said, "Following last year's Fishing Village Vacant House Regeneration Project, we have decided to participate in this project again this year for the continuous development of rural and fishing communities," adding, "We hope that the Eobokbus project, which brings together the public and private sectors to create welfare policies for fishermen, will improve the quality of life for fishermen."
