Gwangju Dongbu Fire Station (Chief Moon Heejun) announced on the 27th that it visited the restoration construction site of the former Jeonnam Provincial Government building at the National Asia Culture Center in Gwangsan-dong, Dong-gu, to provide fire prevention and on-site safety guidance.
As part of its spring fire prevention measures, Dongbu Fire Station is continuously conducting on-site guidance visits to large construction sites with a total floor area of over 10,000 square meters until May.
This guidance was implemented to prevent fires at large construction sites and strengthen rapid initial response systems in the event of an accident, following a recent incident in which a fire at a hotel construction site in Gijang-gun, Busan, resulted in multiple casualties.
The main points of guidance included: ▲ sharing recent construction site fire cases and emphasizing safety management ▲ guidance on installation and maintenance of temporary fire facilities ▲ fire prevention and safety education for foreign workers ▲ placement of fire extinguishers and fire watchers during hot work such as welding and cutting ▲ compliance with standards for storage and handling of hazardous materials, and more.
Chief Moon Heejun of Dongbu Fire Station said, "During the dry spring season, even a small spark can lead to a large-scale fire. Especially at large construction sites, fires can quickly escalate into major disasters, so please strictly adhere to safety rules and thoroughly maintain temporary fire facilities."
