This program is designed to leverage the characteristics of Busan as a maritime city by providing safety education and hands-on activities necessary for water leisure activities, thereby raising students' interest in the Seonakdonggang ecological environment and fostering respect for life and a spirit of cooperation.
The program consists of water safety education at participating schools, including "Making Paracord Bracelets," "Learning CPR and Automated External Defibrillator Usage," and "Throwing a Throw Bag." In the afternoon, students move to the water activity center for hands-on experiences such as "Non-motorized Watercraft Experience," "Indoor Rowing Virtual Race," and "Bicycle Safety Education." In addition, activities related to extreme weather (rain, algal blooms, strong winds, etc.) such as "Safety OX Quiz," "Indoor Surfing," and "GPS Quiz" are also conducted.
The Busan Student Character Education Center provides the water activity experience free of charge, including student education fees and transportation costs.
Kang Naehee, Director of the Student Character Education Center, said, "I hope students can develop consideration and cooperation necessary for community life and enhance their ability to respond to emergencies through this experience program."
