The city of Suwon in Gyeonggi Province has set a goal of creating 36,000 jobs and achieving a 69% employment rate this year.
In accordance with the 'Local Job Target Disclosure System,' Suwon City announced the 'Annual Detailed Plan for the 2025 Local Job Disclosure System Job Measures' on the 'City News' board of the Suwon City website (www.suwon.go.kr) on the 25th.
Suwon City will first promote 347 projects across 9 sectors in both the public and private sectors based on four major job creation strategies and 18 implementation tasks for this year.
The four major job creation strategies are ▲ attracting and supporting companies to complete the status of a Special Economic City ▲ successful startup fostering and revitalization of the local economy ▲ providing citizen-tailored job support services ▲ expanding job measures for the youth.
In the public sector, direct jobs, employment services, employment incentives, and startup support will be expanded, while in the private sector, jobs will be created through attracting companies.
A Suwon City official stated, "To establish a foundation for sustainable growth and achieve self-sufficiency, we must attract good companies and create quality jobs," adding, "We will strive to complete a virtuous cycle structure where companies invest in the region and build infrastructure based on that investment."
Introduced in 2010, the Local Job Target Disclosure System requires local government heads to establish job targets and job measures they aim to achieve during their term and disclose them to citizens. The central government supports local government policies, verifies implementation performance, and provides incentives to outstanding local governments.
