[Asset Disclosure] Average Property of Gyeonggi-do Council Members 1.109 Billion Won... 14 Million Won Decrease from Previous Year

It was revealed that 62% of the 11th Gyeonggi Provincial Assembly members saw an increase in their assets within a year. The average assets held amounted to 1.1 billion KRW, which is 14 million KRW less than a year ago.


According to the 2025 Regular Asset Change Disclosure List (as of December 31, 2024) released by the Government Ethics Committee on the 27th, out of the total 154 Gyeonggi Provincial Assembly members, 96 members (62.3%) reported an increase in their assets.


The overall average assets were 1.109 billion KRW, down 14 million KRW from 1.123 billion KRW as of December 31, 2023.


Kim Jin-kyung (The Democratic Party of Korea·Siheung 3), the chairperson, reported 569 million KRW, an increase of 46 million KRW. The reason was explained as due to increased insurance premiums and deposits, and decreased debts.


Among the assembly members, the wealthiest was Kim Seong-su (People Power Party·Hanam 2) for the second consecutive year, with reported assets of 25.08 billion KRW.

In Kim’s case, compared to the previous year (25.968 billion KRW), his personally owned buildings and land were incorporated into the Hanam Gyosan Public Housing District, and assets decreased by 960 million KRW due to deposit withdrawals and other factors.


Following him were Jo Hee-seon (People Power Party·Proportional Representation) with 7.946 billion KRW, Oh Jun-hwan (People Power Party·Goyang 9) with 4.964 billion KRW, Kang Woong-cheol (People Power Party·Yongin 8) with 5.876 billion KRW, Kim Jong-bae (Democratic Party·Siheung 4) with 5.386 billion KRW, and Lee Ae-hyung (People Power Party·Suwon 10) with 5.189 billion KRW.


Including these members, 14 assembly members reported assets exceeding 2 billion KRW, one fewer than the previous year.


On the other hand, Jang Yoon-jung (Democratic Party·Ansan 3) reported the lowest assets at negative 29.56 million KRW, a decrease of 40 million KRW from the previous year (10 million KRW) due to increased debts.


Next were Jeong Dong-hyeok (Democratic Party·Goyang 3) who reported 2.63 million KRW, Lee In-ae (People Power Party·Goyang 2) with 10.28 million KRW, and Kim Il-jung (People Power Party·Icheon 1) with 51.05 million KRW.


The number of members holding virtual assets increased about fourfold from last year (11 members) to 47 members. The average amount of virtual assets held by them was approximately 26 million KRW, 2.8 times that of the previous year (9 million KRW).
