Sharers Can Set Time Slots and Parking Fees
70% of Monthly Revenue Paid Out in Cash
Yongsan-gu, Seoul (District Mayor Park Hee-young) is recruiting participants for the ‘Our Neighborhood Shared Parking Lot’ project, which shares parking lots attached to small-scale buildings.
The ‘Our Neighborhood Shared Parking Lot’ project allows owners or managers of detached houses, villas, and commercial buildings to share their building-attached parking lots during unused hours. The goal is to alleviate parking difficulties in densely populated residential areas.
The district is promoting the project by signing an agreement with ‘Socar,’ the operator of the online parking platform service ‘Everyone’s Parking Lot,’ to encourage participation.
Through the ‘Everyone’s Parking Lot’ app, real-time information on available shared parking lots is provided, allowing drivers to park immediately after payment. The sharing party can autonomously set the sharing dates, time slots, and parking fees. 70% of the revenue generated from sharing is paid out in cash after settlement. Residents wishing to participate can inquire at the Yongsan-gu Office Parking Management Division (02-2199-7804) or apply via the Naver form on the district’s website.
The district plans to actively promote the project, especially in densely populated residential areas where parking is particularly scarce. Additionally, efforts will be made to create new parking lots by discovering unused land, aiming to alleviate residents’ daily inconveniences.
District Mayor Park Hee-young said, “This project is a solution that everyone can be satisfied with in the reality of high population density and limited land for securing parking lots, so we ask for the active participation of residents.”
