Monthly Purchase Limit to Be Raised from 500,000 KRW to 1,000,000 KRW
Expectations for Revitalizing the Local Economy
Seongnam City, Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Shin Sang-jin) announced on the 27th that it will extend the 10% special discount sale of the Seongnam Love Gift Certificate until June amid the slow recovery of the local economy due to the economic downturn. This is an extraordinary measure to stimulate local consumption and support small business owners.
Seongnam City also plans to raise the monthly purchase limit per person for the Seongnam Love Gift Certificate from the current 500,000 KRW to 1,000,000 KRW so that more citizens can benefit.
The Seongnam Love Gift Certificate can be purchased by anyone regardless of their address and can be used at affiliated stores within Seongnam City. Mobile gift certificates can be purchased through the local gift certificate app Chak by those aged 14 and older, and paper gift certificates can be purchased by citizens aged 18 and older at NH Nonghyup Bank, Nonghyup, Credit Unions, and Saemaeul Geumgo within Seongnam City.
Mayor Shin Sang-jin of Seongnam said, “We hope this 10% special discount will ease the financial burden on citizens and provide practical help to small business owners,” adding, “We will continue to prepare various support measures to revitalize the local economy.”
Meanwhile, the 10% discount applied when purchasing the Seongnam Love Gift Certificate will be automatically applied from April, and the increase in the monthly purchase limit will be implemented once the related ordinance is amended.
