A Unique Spring Festival in Seoul Blending Lake, Cherry Blossoms, and Culture and Arts
Songpa-gu (Mayor Seo Gang-seok) will hold the ‘2025 Hosu Cherry Blossom Festival’ at Seokchon Lake, one of Seoul’s representative spring flower spots, for five days from April 2 to 6.
Seokchon Lake is a premier spot in downtown Seoul to enjoy cherry blossoms. Over the past three years, it has established itself as a complex cultural and artistic space with the expansion of various cultural and artistic facilities. Seokchon Lake in Songpa-gu is the only place in Seoul where visitors can enjoy the lake, cherry blossoms, and diverse cultural arts all together.
Accordingly, the district planned the ‘2025 Hosu Cherry Blossom Festival’ as more than just a simple cherry blossom outing, but as a festival where visitors can fully enjoy culture and arts alongside the lake.
□ Diverse Cultural Performances Alongside Cherry Blossoms
On the first day of the festival, April 2, the ‘Cherry Blossom Welcome Opening’ event will take place. It will begin with a string quartet performance by ‘Ensemble Aube,’ followed by the opening declaration and the lighting ceremony of the cherry blossom trees. Then, the acapella group ‘Voice Toy’ and K-pop singers Hwang Garam and Chuu will perform, adding to the excitement of spring.
From April 3 to 5, a wide range of performances will continue on the Dongho lakeside stage. Performances by district-run cultural and artistic groups, busking by young musicians, and diverse stages by current students and graduates of Korea National University of Arts will be presented, featuring genres from trot and traditional Korean folk songs (taryeong) to recorder performances and choir. Every day from 1 PM to 7 PM, art performances set against the backdrop of cherry blossoms will offer visitors a special experience.
On the final day of the festival, April 6, the ‘Full Bloom Cherry Blossom Concert’ will be held. Starting with a performance by the pop-opera group ‘Volare,’ exciting shows by the retro music group ‘Gold Sisters’ and the b-boy performance team ‘CPI Crew’ will follow. Finally, K-pop singer ‘Ailee’ will close the festival with her sweet voice.
□ Seokchon Lake Reborn as a Cultural and Artistic Space
The highlight of this festival is undoubtedly the cultural and artistic experiences alongside the cherry blossoms. During the festival, rich programs will be held at the cultural and artistic facilities located at Seokchon Lake.

□ Special Cherry Blossom Path with Night Views
The district has installed landscape lighting along the entire 2.6 km walking path around Seokchon Lake. Visitors can fully appreciate the beauty of the cherry blossoms even at night. White lights shining over the cherry blossoms create a flower light tunnel, and dazzling cherry blossom gates, neon photo zones, and interactive photo zones are installed throughout the walking path, offering visitors special memories.
In particular, the district plans to proceed with the festival as scheduled, even if the cherry blossom blooming period varies, as promised to residents. Additionally, 200 professional safety management personnel will be deployed in cooperation with related agencies such as the police and fire departments. Volunteers will also be stationed along the walking paths and near the performance venues to ensure a safe festival with measures such as one-way traffic.
Seo Gang-seok, Mayor of Songpa-gu, said, “Seokchon Lake has now become a complex space where culture and arts blend beyond just being a cherry blossom spot,” adding, “I hope everyone creates special memories this spring at Songpa-gu’s ‘Hosu Cherry Blossom Festival,’ the only festival where you can simultaneously experience the romance of the lake and diverse cultural arts along with the cherry blossoms.”
