Chairman Ko Hak-su's assets total 5.8 billion KRW
Spouse's assets are twice as much as his own
Ko Hak-su, Chairman of the Personal Information Protection Commission, reported assets worth approximately 5.838 billion KRW this year.
According to the "2025 Regular Asset Change Report" disclosed on the 26th by the Government Public Officials Ethics Committee through the official gazette, Chairman Ko's assets increased by about 29.6 million KRW compared to last year's reported amount.
A notable feature is that the assets under his spouse's name are about twice as much as those owned by Chairman Ko himself.
The spouse owns land worth 1.9 billion KRW in Oseong-myeon, Pyeongtaek-si, Gyeonggi-do, as well as a complex building valued at 2 billion KRW in Seobinggo-dong, Yongsan-gu, Seoul, and has debts recorded as rental deposits of about 200 million KRW.
Chairman Ko himself reported a jeonse leasehold right for an 84.84㎡ apartment in Pyeong-dong, Jongno-gu, Seoul, valued at 1.2 billion KRW. He also owns a 2019 Lexus passenger car worth approximately 27.7 million KRW.
Regarding deposits, Chairman Ko reported about 1.038 billion KRW, while his spouse, mother, and eldest daughter reported approximately 118 million KRW.
The spouse holds unlisted stocks worth 2 billion KRW (Dail, Samhyeon, Hangil) and reportedly borrowed 800 million KRW from the Industrial Bank of Korea.
