The average assets of high-ranking judges were calculated to be around 3.8 billion KRW. Excluding Chief Justice Cho Hee-dae, who holds assets worth 1.586 billion KRW, the average assets of the 12 Supreme Court justices were found to be approximately 3.72 billion KRW.

According to the "2025 Regular Asset Change Report for Public Officials" released by the Supreme Court on the 27th, the total assets of 132 high-ranking judges subject to disclosure amounted to 2.8752 billion KRW, an increase of 414.2 million KRW compared to last year.

The Supreme Court explained, "The main factors for the change in assets are the increase in official housing prices and individual land prices, salary savings, and inheritance."

Chief Justice Cho Hee-dae reported assets worth 1.586 billion KRW. His spouse owns an apartment in Seongnam-si, Gyeonggi Province valued at 1.079 billion KRW, and they jointly own a multi-family house in Macheon-dong, Songpa-gu, Seoul, valued at 76 million KRW. He also reported debts of 1.3 billion KRW related to building rentals. Following him, Justice Lee Suk-yeon reported 15.26 billion KRW, Justice Seo Kyung-hwan 6.3 billion KRW, and Justice Shin Sook-hee 4.3 billion KRW.

The justice who reported the least assets was Justice Cheon Dae-yeop, with 310 million KRW. Justices Noh Kyung-pil and Eom Sang-pil reported total assets of 1.08 billion KRW and 1.52 billion KRW, respectively.

There are eight high-ranking judges with assets exceeding 10 billion KRW. Lee Hyung-geun, Director of Planning and Coordination at the Court Administration Office, reported 33.78 billion KRW. Seoul High Court Chief Judge Yoon Seung-eun reported 19.51 billion KRW, and Lee Seung-ryeon, Director of the Judicial Policy Research Institute, reported 19.38 billion KRW. The high-ranking judge with the least assets was Suwon High Court Chief Judge Lim Sang-gi, with 150 million KRW.

Meanwhile, the high-ranking judge with the largest asset increase over the past year was Justice Lee Suk-yeon, whose assets increased by 3 billion KRW. The increase was due to the spouse’s retirement pay and delays in changing the name on donated stocks.
