The public official with the highest assets among the Ministry of Justice and prosecution offices was Byun Pil-geon, Director of Planning and Coordination at the Ministry of Justice, who reported assets worth 47.76 billion KRW. This amount increased by approximately 3.87 billion KRW compared to one year ago.

According to the "2025 Regular Asset Changes of Senior Public Officials" disclosed by the Government Public Officials Ethics Committee on the 27th, Director Byun and his family reported total assets worth 47.76 billion KRW.

Among Director Byun's assets, 1.46 billion KRW was land. In addition, he owned buildings worth 12.62 billion KRW, deposits worth 3.25 billion KRW, listed and unlisted stocks worth 7.86 billion KRW, private bonds worth 29.75 billion KRW, and artworks worth 1.53 billion KRW.

Director Byun's assets increased by about 3.9 billion KRW compared to one year ago. This was largely due to the reflection of the actual transaction price of the Nine One Hannam apartment in Hannam-dong, Yongsan-gu, Seoul, owned by his spouse, the rise in stock prices of listed stocks, and changes in the valuation of unlisted stocks.

Prosecutor General Shim Woo-jung's assets were 12.1 billion KRW, the second highest after Director Byun. His assets increased by 3.76 billion KRW compared to one year ago, influenced by his spouse inheriting additional deposits and the rise in stock prices of overseas stocks held by his family.

Kim Seong-hoon, Chief Prosecutor of Uijeongbu District Prosecutors' Office, reported 7.8 billion KRW, an increase of 1.73 billion KRW due to dividends received after the auction and division of co-owned real estate inherited by his spouse. Jung Young-hak, Chief Prosecutor of Busan District Prosecutors' Office, reported 7.08 billion KRW, an increase of 540 million KRW influenced by stock gifts from his spouse and stock price fluctuations.

Park Seong-jae, Minister of Justice, reported 2.75 billion KRW, a decrease of 120 million KRW. He also stated that his eldest son acquired virtual assets with no monetary value through airdrops, including 0.00000094 Ripple, 0.57170688 Doni Finance, and 38.2409851 Vitor Token.

Lim Seung-cheol, Deputy Chief Prosecutor of Gwangju High Prosecutors' Office, reported total assets of 710 million KRW and disclosed that his spouse held virtual assets worth approximately 9,000 KRW, including 0.0000647 Bitcoin.

Kim Seok-woo, Vice Minister of Justice, reported 4.56 billion KRW, including 3,225 grams of 24K gold, and Lee Chang-soo, Chief Prosecutor of Seoul Central District Prosecutors' Office, reported 4.36 billion KRW, including a 2-carat diamond. The person who reported the least assets was Lee Jae-yu, Research Fellow at the Judicial Research and Training Institute, with 230 million KRW.

Oh Dong-woon, Chief of the High-ranking Officials Crime Investigation Office, reported assets of 3.43 billion KRW, an increase of 60 million KRW. He stated that his eldest daughter acquired a pre-sale right worth approximately 370 million KRW as a redevelopment association member of an apartment in Sanseong-dong, Sujeong-gu, Seongnam-si, Gyeonggi Province. He also reported holding 41.06515655 Solozhenic and 28.09521623 Xcore virtual assets worth about 6,000 KRW, but their market value dropped to zero.

Lee Jae-seung, Deputy Chief of the Corruption Investigation Office for High-ranking Officials, reported assets of 1.63 billion KRW and disclosed holding virtual assets including 0.00000993 Bitcoin worth about 1,000 KRW and 1 Paycoin.

Meanwhile, the average assets of 51 individuals subject to asset disclosure in the Ministry of Justice and prosecution offices were calculated at 3.66 billion KRW as of the end of last year.
