Nexon Holds 'Mabinogi Mobile' Demo Event
Ensemble Performances Around the Campfire... A Strong Community Vibe
Easier Combat and Quests Than the Original, Will It Attract Beginners?
Enemies cross through the dimensional gate. While fighting against the endlessly surging beings of darkness, a familiar voice is heard. "Can you hear me?" At that moment, you fall into another world. Tir Coneil, a secluded village hidden between towering mountain ranges and dense forests, unfolds before your eyes.
On the 17th, Nexon provided an opportunity to directly experience Tir Coneil in the romantic fantasy massively multiplayer online role-playing game (MMORPG) 'Mabinogi Mobile.' This new title faithfully captures the unique community aspect of Mabinogi. Players could gather around a campfire, socialize, cook food, and share meals. Using the MML code system (which allows users to compose and perform music), players could play their own compositions for others, perform ensemble pieces, or even dance together.
True to its reputation as a 'healing game,' it also offered a variety of simple life content. Players could collect eggs from nests to make fried eggs, shear wool, and weave fabric. Activities such as gathering, fishing, cooking, processing and crafting, and part-time jobs were also available.
During approximately two hours of experiencing core content like communication, gathering, and combat, a common impression was that the game had become relatively easy and streamlined. By pressing the 'Magic Compass' button, quests progress automatically without needing to specify actions or destinations. When the 'Combat Assist' feature is enabled, dungeon clearing is possible without manual control. Even during manual combat, an auto-attack function targets nearby enemies to some extent. The 'Chance Encounter' system, which allows players to meet and cooperate with others during dungeon battles, is a feature unique to Mabinogi Mobile.
This is both a service optimized for the mobile environment and a strategy to attract beginners to the game. At the demonstration event, Devcat CEO Kim Dong-geon said, "Mabinogi Mobile has lowered the barrier so much that even people who have never played or known about the game would think, 'I want to try it too.'"

The Mabinogi Mobile team explained that the main story and growth content of the game can be fully enjoyed without spending money. However, with in-app purchases, players can buy cute pets or special mounts in the shop, and when purchasing fashion items, they can try on outfits as if selecting clothes in a department store before making a choice.
Mabinogi Mobile will be available from the 27th through the Google Play Store and Apple App Store. The PC version is provided via Nexon's official website. It supports both landscape and portrait modes, allowing players to switch to portrait mode for chatting or to landscape mode for focusing on battles with a wider screen.
