At the executive meeting held on the 26th at the Goyang Flower Exhibition Hall, Mayor Lee Dong-hwan, after receiving the preparation report, said, “The 17th Goyang International Flower Expo this year is Goyang City's representative festival that generated an economic effect of 112.9 billion KRW last year alone. As the only event in Korea where a flower festival and an industrial expo are held together, please immerse Goyang City in a festive atmosphere that makes everyone want to visit the Flower Expo.” He emphasized, “Please do your best to significantly improve flower business performance so that everyone can be satisfied with the event.”
He also said, “Please promote an event that everyone definitely wants to participate in by creating content that arouses visitors’ curiosity, such as operating unique programs that embody the theme of this Flower Expo, ‘Flowers, Imagination, and Fragrance.’ In particular, please thoroughly prepare administrative support such as transportation, parking, and safety so that visitors to the event venue can enjoy the exhibition without inconvenience.”
Following this, regarding the recent large-scale wildfires in places like Uiseong, Mayor Lee inspected the wildfire response posture and urged thorough preparation to strengthen citizen safety.
Mayor Lee Dong-hwan said, “Recently, large-scale wildfires have occurred across the country amid dry weather and strong winds, causing significant damage. I express my deep condolences for the noble sacrifice of those who lost their lives while extinguishing the wildfires and offer sincere condolences to their bereaved families.”
Finally, he instructed, “Relevant departments should thoroughly check the initial firefighting system and reorganize the cooperation system with related organizations to further strengthen wildfire response capabilities.”
Meanwhile, at the executive meeting on the same day, the following were discussed in relation to the support plan for the Goyang International Flower Expo: ▲2025 Goyang International Flower Expo comprehensive administrative support system ▲comprehensive traffic measures ▲cleaning measures for areas around the event venue and major roads ▲environmental maintenance of Ilsan Lake Park ▲safety management of food and public hygiene establishments.
