Choi Sang-mok: "Tax Support for Small Businesses in Wildfire-Affected Areas Will Be Implemented Without Delay" Choi Sang-mok, Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs and Minister of Economy and Finance, is speaking at the 'Meeting of Heads of Four External Agencies' held at the Government Sejong Complex on the 26th.

Choi Sang-mok, Deputy Prime Minister for Economy and Minister of Strategy and Finance, on the 26th, urged, "Please ensure the smooth implementation of tax support for small business owners in the wildfire-affected areas of Gyeongbuk."


Deputy Prime Minister Choi made this remark during a meeting with heads of four affiliated agencies of the Ministry of Strategy and Finance at the Government Complex Sejong, stating, "The difficulties in the livelihood economy are intensifying due to the usual environment and political and economic uncertainties."


While urging, "Please manage taxation carefully so as not to burden the national economic activities," Deputy Prime Minister Choi also requested, "Strictly respond to real estate-related tax evasion such as disguised gifts, fictitious transactions, and under-the-table contracts, especially in overheated market areas, and correct the practices in some marriage, childbirth, and education sectors that evade taxes through irregular cash transactions, imposing a heavy burden on the younger generation."


To the Korea Customs Service, he emphasized the agency's support efforts for export companies amid the realization of the new U.S. administration's tariff policies, and ordered active support for domestic export companies regarding product classification and certificate of origin.


To the Public Procurement Service, he urged that public purchasing power serve as a catalyst for corporate growth and to strive to create an ecosystem for the growth of small, venture, and innovative companies. To the Statistics Korea, he emphasized the need to carry out this year's Population and Housing Census and Agriculture, Forestry, and Fisheries Census, conducted for the first time in five years, with substance.


Deputy Prime Minister Choi said, "The role of affiliated agencies is more important than ever to focus capabilities on key tasks such as responding to the intensifying global trade war, maintaining fiscal soundness to secure external credibility, and revitalizing domestic demand for the recovery of the livelihood economy."
