Nearly One Million Viewers Mark a Successful First Season

Atlanta Drive GC, composed of Justin Thomas, Patrick Cantlay, Billy Horschel, and Lucas Glover (all from the United States), won the TGL finals held on the 25th (local time) at the Sofi Center TGL-exclusive stadium in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida, USA. They defeated the New York Golf Club, consisting of Matt Fitzpatrick (England), Rickie Fowler, Xander Schauffele, and Cameron Young (all from the United States). In the best-of-three finals, they won the first match 6-5 and the second match 4-3. Atlanta Drive GC received the championship trophy, the Sofi Cup, along with a prize of $9 million (approximately 13.2 billion KRW), amounting to $2.25 million (approximately 330 million KRW) per player.
TGL is an indoor virtual golf league led by Tiger Woods (USA) and Rory McIlroy (Northern Ireland), which debuted this year. Twenty-four players divided into six teams of four competed five times each, and the top four teams proceeded to the playoffs and finals to determine the champion. Since its launch in January, the TGL season lasted about three months and was a successful first season, with nearly one million viewers tuning in to the broadcasts.
