On-site Training Including Evacuation Drills and Disaster Simulations
Seo-gu District of Gwangju (District Mayor Kim Ikang) is operating a "Mobile Safety Experience Center" program in collaboration with the Bitgoeul National Safety Experience Center.
According to Seo-gu on the 26th, this program dispatches a mobile safety experience vehicle to 25 educational institutions, including daycare centers, kindergartens, and lower grades of elementary schools, where visiting the safety experience center is difficult. The project focuses on field-based, hands-on safety education for children.
The Mobile Safety Experience Center will operate once a month until November. Professional instructors, including firefighters, will provide realistic experiences tailored to various disaster situations such as earthquakes and fires. The program includes theoretical education using audiovisual materials, disaster simulation experiences, and emergency evacuation drills for fire and earthquake scenarios. Through these activities, children will naturally learn disaster response methods appropriate to their level.
Kim Hyunnam, Head of the Safety Management Division, said, "We have prepared this mobile program to meet the increasing demand for children's safety education," and added, "We will continue to expand educational opportunities for vulnerable groups and strive to make Seo-gu a safe city where all residents can feel secure."
