From July 1, 2024, with the integration of special transportation services under the Gyeonggi-do Metropolitan Mobility Support Center, the Guri City Transportation Vulnerable Mobility Support Center is implementing full dispatch operations where the Gyeonggi-do Metropolitan Mobility Support Center centrally manages the reception and dispatch of special transportation services.
Accordingly, the 22 special transportation vehicles previously used together with non-wheelchair users are now prioritized for dispatch to severely mobility-impaired individuals using wheelchairs. Since the implementation of full dispatch, the average waiting time for special transportation services has been reduced by more than half, from 62 minutes to 30 minutes.
In addition, by securing and operating 8 additional alternative vehicles for non-wheelchair users besides the special transportation vehicles, the number of transportation-vulnerable mobility vehicle usages in the city has approximately doubled compared to before.
Mayor Baek Kyung-hyun of Guri City stated, “Guri City will continue to make efforts such as actively improving user inconveniences through regular surveys to enhance the mobility convenience of transportation-vulnerable groups.”
